If you were around in the 90s you probably watched The Matrix and maybe even some sequel Matrix movies. If you recall there was this cool falling green characters that represented the virtual space that was The Matrix.
Come to find out those characters were just sushi recipes! This snippet from Christopher Hooton (Read his post here) states:
The falling green characters at the beginning of all of the Matrix films have become perhaps the most recognizable visual from the film, signifying how everything in the franchise’s universe is a vast fabrication.
So what constitutes the code? An incredibly complex equation? Chopped up passages of Heidegger? Nope, it’s just a load of recipes for sushi.
The Matrix production designer Simon Whiteley told CNet of the apparently indecipherable collection of Japanese hiragana, katakana, and kanji characters: “I like to tell everybody that The Matrix’s code is made out of Japanese sushi recipes.
“Without that code, there is no Matrix.”
Needless to say, its cool whatever its made of. So cool in fact I made it my screen saver! Download your own copy of Red Pill Screen saver for MAC here or look for others here
